The Department of Biochemistry in Institution of Laboratory Medicine is recognised for doing Research leading to the award of Ph.D degree in Biochemistry by Tamilnadu Dr.M.G.R. Medical University, Chennai, Tamilnadu, India.

The Ph.D Programme is conducted in the Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Basic Medical Science and Faculty of Pharmacy.

The Candidates with Post Graduate Qualification in the Faculty of Medicine is eligible to undergo Ph.D Programme for Three years.

The Candidates with Post Graduate Qualification in the Faculty of Science is eligible to undergo Ph.D Programme for Four years.

Dr.P.CHINNASWAMY is a Guide/Supervisor recognised by Tamilnadu Dr.M.G.R. Medical University, Chennai and Bharathiyar University, Coimbatore.

There are Six Ph.D Scholars can work at a time under him.
