| As per the norms of the Tamilnadu Dr.MGR Medical University, Chennai. UG programme includes nursing science and basic sciences such as Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Psychology and Sociology. |

| MSc(N) The special feature of MSc (N) Programme is Clinical Specialisation in Nursing, Nursing Education and Administration, and Research Methodology

Eligibility Criteria for Admission |
| Basic BSc (N) |
| 1 . | Only female candidates |
| 2. | 12 years of study(+2) with the following subjects of Physics,Chemistry and Biology or Botany and Zoology |
| 3. | Age 17 years and above |

MSc(N) |
| The candidate should have : |
| 1. | Passed the BSc(N) Degree Examination of Dr.MGR Medical University or any other University accepted as equivalent there to. |
| 2. | Should have registered with the State Nursing and Midwives Council. |
| 3. | Basic BSc(N) graduates should have atleast 2 years of experience in a Teaching hospital or in a College or in a School of Nursing or Community Health Programme after graduation registration with the State Nursing & Midwives Council. |
| 4. | The BSc Trained Nurses need not have 2 years of experience after graduation for admission to the MSc(N). They can be admitted soon after the graduation in any branch of study. |
| 5. | In case of male candidates they should have passed any other course recommended by the Indian Nursing Council in the place of midwifery. These male candidates are not eligible for admission to Maternity Nursing irrespective of their experience in this area. |
